Big East Rankings, 11-27-11
1 - Syracuse (6-0)
Has looked the best and has the deepest team in the conference.
2 - Louisville (5-0)
Injuries may slow the Cardinals down but not yet.
3 - Marquette (5-0)
Another typical strong but unsung Marquette team. Have some tough players to matchup with.
4 - Connecticut (6-1)
Good team but kind of young. Napier and Lamb have really matured; need Drummond to do the same.
5 - Georgetown (4-1)
Out of the gate pretty well, my pick for BE ROY of the year is Otto Porter.
6 - Pittsburgh (5-1)
Real good guards and wings, how well the front court plays determines how good this Pitt team us. Khem Birch had real good first start after not doing much coming off the bench.
7 - West Virginia (3-1)
Not as strong as usual for WVU. Good starting five, no bench.
8 - Villanova (5-1)
Talented bunch but, same as Pitt, needs the frontcourt to step up.
9 - Seton Hall (5-1)
Don't think the Pirates are as good as this ranking but too many hiccups below. Bent against lesser, didn't break.
10 - Cincinnati (3-2)
Should be better than this ranking but two losses at home to lesser really hurt.
11 - St. John's (4-3)
Looked better in their two losses in the Garden last week than they did in their earlier wins but getting crushed by Northeastern at home means the Redmen fans need patience.
12 - DePaul (4-1)
There is some talent on this team, just not enough of it yet.
13 - Notre Dame (5-2)
Have looked terrible and losing Abromaitis kills them.
14 - South Florida (5-2)
Started well than have looked lost. Good front court could be a small surprise if the backcourt can be consistent. No home court for them this year.
15 - Rutgers (3-3)
Young talent has to learn how to value the ball and play defense. Rice is a technical foul waiting to happen.
16 - Providence (4-2)
Work in progress, not much talent to work with this year.
