Pratt Gonzo's First Bounty as Pirate Coach

Pirates'land Pratt

It didn't take Bobby Gonzalez long to make an impact on NYC recruiting for the Seton Hall Pirates. Gonzo picked up his first commit as Pirate coach from Kashif Pratt while tapping into an old resource Mo Hicks' Rice Program. Pratt was the unsung guy who helped Rice on their way to being nationally ranked this year. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard is an in your face shut down defender and a bit of sharp shooter. "Kash" had received interest from a variety of programs including West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Marist, Penn State, and Manhattan with offers from all. Anytime a player has offers from Pitt and WVU you know he is good player not to mention very solid on defense.

Pratt has also proved that he is a clutch player by hitting a buzzer beating shot in overtime to lift Rice High School past Christ The King, 62-60 to give the Rice Raiders the CHSAA Intersectional Championship.

Gonzo and new assistant coach Geoff Billet will turn their attention to one of the top PG's still available in the NY/NJ area in Eugene Harvey as well as current NC State commitment Dan Werner who might be seeking a release with the departure of Herb Sendek.
