Scout's 97th ranked player in the country St Benedict's point guard Eugene Harvey will announce his college plans on Friday afternoon at 4:00 in Brooklyn. The prototypical guard is expected to choose between Seton Hall, Rutgers and Pittsburgh. Harvey was considering a visit to Pittsburgh recently but didn't go through with it.
Harvey averaged 12.3 points and 6.5 assists last season. He als helped lead the Gray Bees to a 30 - 2 record against top level competition and was named MVP of the Roundball Classic All Star game. Numerous sources list Seton Hall as the leader.
He's a run your team type of guy. He is an assist man first and foremost. Needs to develop into a perimeter threat but most think that will come with time. He is extremely good at pushing the tempo at a high speed.
Harvey would be a huge get for Seton Hall considering that coach Gonzales has only been recruiting him for 3 weeks. He would be the second commit for the Pirates along with Kashif Pratt from Rice. The Pirates are also said to be involved with NC State commits Larry Davis, Dan Werner, Dennis Horner and preps Mike Davis and Vernon Teel as well as Auburn transfer Joey Cameron. It seems that Gonzo is really trying to make his presence known.
