Who I feel good about
Christian Morris 6-8 270 C South Kent Prep- 4 star center is my #1 man on the board. Morris has already visited SHU along with his good friends Kevin Jones and Mike Coburn. I hear we are in the driver seat right now but might be contingent on landing Coburn. Morris is a beast flat out and if you add him with the fire power already on the roster SHU might return to the top of the conf sooner then most thought possible.
Kevin Jones 6-5 SF Mt Vernon- 4 Star is a teammate of Mike Coburn. Same deal as Morris. About 6-6 but he is very long. At this point he is more PF then SF but he would excel in Gonzo's uptempo style.
Ashton Gibbs 6-2 G 4 Seton Hall Prep- 4 Star combo guard who is a must get based on location alone. Studs from the Prep should never leave the Oranges. This smooth do it all guard would be a perfect fit with Eugene Harvey and Larry Davis. He is also a Metro Hawk so he is very familiar with our staff.
Jordon Theodore 6-1 PG Patterson Catholic- Big-time up and comer. Rated extremely high with other services and might be in the same spot when Scout updates their rankings. He is a do it all G and would be a perfect fit for the system. Could it be possible to get him and Gibbs in the same class?
Travon Woodall 6'1 PG St Anthony's- True PG who played pretty well at ABCD this year. Woodall has quickness, toughness, a solid handle and good court vision. As you will find out in the 2009 Recruiting list the staff has a very good relationship with St Anthony's.
Teeng Akol 6-10 PF Our Savior New American- 4 Star PF who most believe is reclassifing to 2008. At one point SHU was close to getting a commit from this very thing athlete. Good athlete but needs to develop goto moves and strength.
Who we are after but we need to make up some ground
Devin Ebanks 6-8 St Thomas More- 5 Star SF is a 5 tool stud. Very slight but very skilled. Staff is trying to get him on campus but they will have to battle the big dogs for him. Metro Hawk
Quintrell Thomas 6-8 PF St Patrick's- I hear he is someone we are keeping an eye on.
Sylvan Landesberg 6-4 SG Holy Cross- 4 Star who is another big-time player who the staff is trying to get on campus. Explosive scorer who does it all.
Samardo Samuels 6-8 PF St Bendicts- 5 Star Bigman who reminds most of Elton Brand. Just over powers people at this point. All the high majors are after him and he can pick his school. Will Metro Hawk relationship give us a chance?
Nasir Robinson 6-4 SG Chester PA- Philly guard who I hear we are going after. Talented player but will need to see how serious we are after him
Melquan Bolding 6-3 SG Archbishop Stepinac- 4 Star shooting guard who might be a tough one to get. Got to see him at ABCD and was pretty impressed.
