This move makes sense on many levels. Brown is an Ann Arbor Michigan native and has coached on the high school and junior college levels there.
Brown has experiences a nomadic career since he entered coaching in 2004. He has worked at Belleville(Mich) High School, Kent State University (joining that staff right after Rob Murphy left for Syracuse), Schoolcraft College (Mich) and Motlow State Community College in Tennessee.
In his two years at South Alabama Brown earned a reputation as an excellent recruiter and a great communicator with the players. These characteristics will certainly make him a valuable member of the Eastern Michigan staff, especially with his ability to attract talent from the the Michigan area.
Coach Arrow has indicated that it will be after the spring signing period before a new assistant will be announced.
