Jag Camps Begin This Week

Beginning with a 7 on 7 camp this Wednesday, the USA summer camps have kicked off. While observing these skill position players is valuable, it is the individual camp on Friday and Saturday that will really enable the USA staff to judge prospects for this recruiting season and beyond and also show off the USA program to the players. JagsJungle.com has some of the names expected to attend.

Since the individual camp is for athletes eighth grade and higher, many of the 200 participants will not be recruitable players as of yet, although it is a great opportunity to establish relationships for future years. Also, many of the older players will be not be on the USA recruiting radar, but may end the weekend on it with a good performance. The remainder are players that USA is recruiting and they can use this opportunity to decide to offer a scholarship or at least advance the recruiting process in hopes of landing talent on Signing Day in February.

JagsJungle.com has a partial list of players that are scheduled to attend the camp. Of course, until they actually show up none of the attendees are guaranteed to be there. Some surprise players who were not expected always seem to pop up, too. With that in mind, here are the defensive players that we expect to see this weekend:
Defensive End - Jamichael Winston
Linebacker - Leon Jones
Defensive Back - Kelton Brackett

As any Jag fan knows, this year's recruiting focus is squarely on the offensive line. That is no doubt why all the offensive players that have been highlighted are linemen, and there are plenty of them:
Steven Foster
Kyle Knapp
Kyron Samuels
Joseph Scelfo
Daniel Aust
Joey Warburg
Will Adams
Drew Sarvary
Derrick Ross
Dustin Ross
T.C. Klusman

That is the list for now, but we hope to have more names for you after the camp is concluded.
