According to the Mobile Press Register, Jay Minor has joined his Prattville teammate Terrance Jones in giving his pledge to South Alabama.
According to the MPR, Prattville Coach Jamie Dubose said ""They're two of the best D-linemen in the state, one of them the most unknown D-lineman in the state, Terrance Jones. South Alabama got two steals right there. Their height holds them back from being in the SEC, but they're SEC players."
He went on to say this about Minor: "His technique is unreal off the edge. ... He's a great kid, a very coachable kid, a high-motor, high-intensity kid. He's a run-stopper. He's also a pass-rusher. He can do either one. He's great with his hands and he's very athletic. He's a playmaker."
Minor accumulated 12 sacks last year and was ranked the 51st best player in Alabama by Scout's Andrew Bone. He is projected to play as an outside linebacker in USA's 3-4 scheme, but could possibly grow into a DE in the future.
