Ellis Hill is sitting on one offer, but the talented running back from Hillcrest High School still has schools showing interest in his abilities at the next level. He discusses those schools, as well as his new leader.
"I have the one offer from South Alabama, but I'm still hearing from Duke, Louisiana Tech, Vanderbilt and JSU," Ellis Hill tells JagsJungles.com from his home in Tuscaloosa, (Ala).
The Blue Devils appear to be the Jags toughest competition at this point. Hill talks about the Blue Devils camp experience.
"I really enjoyed my experience at Duke," Hill stated. "It felt like home up there. I really like all the coaches, they were down to earth and very honest with me. Everything they told me sounded real. I really like Coach [Mike] MacIntyre. We get along real well and he's a good guy."
While the Blue Devils, Commodores and Gamecocks continue to recruit Ellis Hill they have their work cut out for them over the next few months as Hill recently took an unofficial visit to the University of South Alabama.
"I went to South this past Wednesday," Hill reported. "I really liked it there. Coach Craig is my recruiting coach, and he does a great job. I really like Coach Craig. He's a good guy."
"My parents had to work, so my brother went with me on my visit. We toured the campus, which is very nice, and they showed us where the new football facilities are going to be built. It was all very nice, and the coaches were very honest. I liked them all. They also have some good commitments from other players," Hill exclaimed.
While South Alabama leads for Hill's signature he isn't finished with his recruitment at the moment.
"I am going to a camp at JSU, and more than likely I'm going up to Vanderbilt," Hill said. "I like South Alabama, but I don't want to close the door on anyone else right now. I want to make sure the school I choose is the right one for me."
Hill doesn't have a time frame for a decision, but he would like to end the process early.
"I will make my decision when I feel comfortable with it. I don't want to rush into anything, but I would like to finish my recruitment by the beginning of football season, or during the season. If not, I will wait until I know for sure," Hill explained.
Hill reports a 3.62 GPA in the classroom and a 20 on the ACT.
