Lawson McGlon, a three year kicker for the 2007 Georgia AA State Champion Buford Wolves has committed to play for the University of South Alabama football program in Mobile, AL. McGlon committed to Coach Joey Jones in July. "I spoke with coach Jones in July. I told him I would enroll in January and be ready to compete at spring practice."

McGlon, who graduated from Buford in 2008, had over 185 kickoffs while playing for the Wolves, with over 90% touchback or downed inside the 20 yard line. On field goals he was 8 of 11, with one game winner vs Cartersville in the final 10 seconds of play and a long of 37 yards in the state championship game vs Lovett.

In July, Lawson had the opportunity to spend time with Coach Jones. "He showed me the campus and the area where all the new facilities will be built." "It was awesome. USA is really growing. There is new construction everywhere. I am really looking forward to becoming part of the first team."

McGlon, who was recruited by Georgia Southern University, Mars Hill, University of Miami-Ohio, Lenoir Ryhne, Valdosta State, Old Dominion, Jacksonville State, and Bowling Green, will enroll at The University of South Alabama in January, and begin spring training for the following inaugural 2009 Fall season.
