South Alabama still leads for Ellis Hill

Ellis Hill of Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) has started the 2008 season with a bang. Hill has rushed for 350 yards and 5 touchdowns in the first two games. He hopes to continue to put up big numbers throughout the season. caught up to Ellis Hill at his home in Tuscaloosa (Ala.) and he gave us the latest news in his recruitment.

"I am enjoying the recruiting process right now," Hill said. "I took an unofficial visit to La. Tech when they played Mississippi State, and that went well."

"I got to meet with the coaches, and they took me around campus. We toured all their facilities, which were pretty nice. My Dad went with me, and we had a fun trip," Hill stated. asked Ellis if the visit did anything to change the status of his recruitment.

"No sir," Hill replied. "South Alabama is still my overall favorite."

The Jags are the only school to offer the talented running back, but that could soon change after his visit to La. Tech.

"I believe La. Tech is very interested in me. They told me to send them film of my first three games, which I plan to do. I think they might offer me if I have the kind of season I'm aiming for," Hill stated.

Hill continues to push his time table for a commitment to the back burner. He discusses that decision with us.

"I am just taking it one day at a time, right now. I will commit when I feel comfortable that I am making the right decision. I am not sure when that will be," Hill said.

"I don't have any official visits set up, yet. I think I will take them after the season is over. I don't know right now. Like I said, I'm just taking one day at a time, and focusing on my team, and my season," Hill concluded.

Hill rushed for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns in the opener, as they defeated a very good Gordo team 28-20. He continued where he left off last Friday night, as he rushed for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 43-21 victory over Jackson Olin.
