South Carolina In Knoxville To Face Tennessee

The South Carolina baseball team is in Knoxville, TN this weekend for the Gamecocks' first Southeastern Conference road contest of the year, a three-game series vs. Tennessee. First pitch for Friday night is set for 7 p.m. with senior LHP Steven Bondurant (2-0, 5.01 ERA) getting the start for the Gamecocks. Tennessee will counter with junior LHP Ben Riley (1-2, 3.53 ERA). Bondurant enters this weekend with a 1-0 record and a 6.33 ERA. Bondurant earned his second consecutive victory of the season last Friday night in Carolina's 7-2 win vs. Arkansas.

Saturday's game is also set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast by CSS. Sunday's game will start at 2 p.m. South Carolina leads the series with the Volunteers 28-21, including winning last year's series (two of three games). Tennessee won two of three games in 2001, the last time both teams played in Knoxville.
