WBB recap: Gamecocks fall to Tigers in OT

The South Carolina women's basketball team led for much of the game before LSU tied it with three seconds remaining and then pulled away for a 54-51 overtime win Thursday in Baton Rouge. With the loss and Auburn's victory over Georgia, there is a three-way tie for fifth heading to the final game of the season.

With just three seconds remaining in regulation, Taylor Turnbow hit a jumper to send the game to overtime, and LSU pulled away in the final minutes to defeat South Carolina, , in Baton Rogue. With the loss, the Gamecocks are now in a three-way tie with Auburn and LSU for fifth place in the SEC heading into the final game of the season Sunday.

After LSU got out to an early lead, South Carolina took control and led nearly the entire game. South Carolina took an eight point lead into the locker room.

Carolina led nearly the entire second half by five or more points until the Tigers battled back to tie the game at 42-42 with just under three minutes left. La'Keisha Sutton made two free throws, but Valerie Nainima missed the front end of a one-and-one with 31 seconds left to set up Turnbow's final shot.

Sutton led the Gamecocks with 18 points, Ashley Bruner had 14, and Ieasia Walker finished with 11.

South Carolina hosts Vanderbilt Sunday in the regular season finale. LSU travels to Tennessee and Auburn hosts Kentucky.
