Ian Baker left his home in Washington, D.C. to play high school ball in Florida in hopes of picking up interest.
It seems like the 2012 guard has accomplished his mission.
"The newest schools that have offered are Tennessee, Old Dominion and Marshall," he said. "I'm interested (in them). I want to get to know the coaches."
Clemson, Boston College and Virginia were schools that hadn't offered but have expressed interest.
Central Florida and Wyoming have also offered the 6-foot-1 guard, but there's a couple of schools that stick out.
"South Carolina, Miami and Providence are my top three right now," the Arlington Country Day (Jacksonville, Fla.) rising senior said. "I plan on visiting South Carolina and Providence in July. I was supposed to visit Miami, but we have to reschedule that.
"If more schools come and offer, that's fine, but as of right now, I'm not waiting for anybody, and I'm just rocking with them."
Out of his top schools, one school has been a step above recently recruiting wise.
"They've been on me the hardest," Baker said of South Carolina, which has offered.
A couple of weeks back, Baker said in an interview that Providence and Miami had a slight lead, but now, the Gamecocks and Friars stand even. Miami has positioned its self as the top school for the guard.
"I feel like South Carolina might be a good fit," Baker said at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in late May. "I've seen them play a couple of times. It seems like they get up and down a little bit. It seems like the coaches let the guards play. It looks like I might have an opportunity to play there. I'm definitely considering them."
At the TOC, Baker did something he had never done before, he eclipsed the 50-point mark in a game. In fact, it was the first time he had ever went over 40 as well.
"It didn't even feel real. It was just one of them games where everything was on," he said. "I was doing everything that game. I had about five or six 3-balls, I was getting to the line, going to the hole. I don't know if I'll ever hit 50 again."
Baker has no time table for making a decision, but when he feels the time is right, he'll pop.
"I'm no where close to making a decision right now," he said. "If I'm not ready to make a decision, I'll wait and sign in the late period."
