Dorrel Scott, the 6-4 315 defensive lineman out of Ridge View high who was reportedly set to commit to Coach Skip Holtz at any time ... has now decided to play out his options and take advantage of the new attention he is receiving from the recruiting coaches.
Our sources tell us that Scott, one of the more highly regarded defensive tackle prospects in the southeast this season, has indicated that he will now wait and take his visits before making a decision.
Dorrel benches 350, squats 550, and is dominating. He attends Ridge View High just north of Columbia and is considered a long time Gamecock fan - but he says other schools offered first and he wants to familiarize himself more with the Gamecock coaches before making a final decision.
While he has a stack of letters from every major school in the southeast, and several indications of more offers to come - he has so far received offers from Clemson, Iowa, Nebraska and South Carolina. Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, East Carolina and UNC are also on the verge of offering.
