As the cousin and teammate of Alonzo Middleton, Orangeburg-Wilkinson (SC) offensive lineman Brandon Middleton is making a name as well.
"I am taking a look at a couple of schools now, but I like South Carolina and Tennessee," says the 6-foot-6, 335 pounder. "If I had to round out a top five, I would say North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Maryland."
Among the top-two schools, one could be on the verge of an offer.
"I talked to the South Carolina offensive line coach, and I think that if I have a good spring game, South Carolina should offer."
With no date set for the spring game, due to a new head coach, Middleton believes it could be May 19. However, a strong summer and fall in combination with his weightroom numbers, could garner more offers for the right tackle.
"Last year I graded out at 88 percent and I had 56 knockdown blocks. This year, the coaches are talking about playing defensive tackle as well as offensive line. I think I will probably be a right tackle in college."
Middleton has a 460 pound bench and 595 pound squat.
