Xylina McDaniel announces visit list

Many who follow girl's high school basketball in the state of South Carolina says Xylina McDaniel is the best instate basketball player since former North Carolina Tar Heel star Ivory Latta. South Carolina will attempt to avoid losing another instate star to an out of state school.

A month after announcing her final four schools of South Carolina, North Carolina, UConn, and Providence, Spring Valley's Xylina McDaniel has now confirmed her visitation plans. She visited North Carolina this past weekend, will visit South Carolina next weekend (Sept. 30-Oct. 2), will visit UConn Oct. 14-16, and will visit Providence Oct. 21-22.

She has already had an in-home visit from Dawn Staley, will have an in-home visit with Providence the day before she begins her official visit to South Carolina, and will have a visit from UConn this Saturday.

McDaniel, the 6'2 forward from Spring Valley is the daughter of former NBA player Xavier McDaniel and teammate of current South Carolina commit Asia Dozier. McDaniel led the Vikings to the 2011 4A State Championship where they defeated current South Carolina freshman Aleighsa Welch's Goose Creek Gators in a rematch from 2010. McDaniel led the team in scoring, averaging 18.5 points, and 8.7 rebounds per game.

McDaniel plans to announce her college decision some time before or during the early signing period, which runs November 9-16, but will not choose until after she completes her final visit to Providence. She has not named a favorite and likely will not before she commits.
