Dorian Capers Comments On His Gamecock Commitment

One of the most dominating defensive linemen in the Southeast is Battery Creek's (S.C.) Dorian Capers. He can shut down the middle of the field and when a running back gets to the outside, he has the speed (4.8 forty yard dash) to chase him down. But is he firmly committed to the Gamecocks? Find out by reading on ...

Dorian Capers racked up 77 tackles and six sacks from his defensive tackle position. The All-State performer works as hard off the field as he does on. He currently boasts a 320-pound bench press, 460-pound squat, and power cleans 240-pounds. He also plans to be a full qualifier.

Capers committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks back in March, but is his commitment still firm?

"Yes Sir, I've always wanted to play for them. I'm pretty sure that after I graduate I'm going to South Carolina," he said.

Capers was receiving attention before his commitment from schools all over the southeast. South Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, East Carolina, (Offer) North Carolina,(Offer) and North Carolina State were just some of the universities after the highly-regarded defensive lineman. So is he planning to take any other visits?

"If I got any offers from any other colleges, I'd like to go (take an official visit) but I'd stay committed (to USC)," Capers said.

Capers' teammate, Tremell Kline, recently received an offer from the in-state Gamecocks. Will Capers help his Gamecock recruiter (Paul Lounsberry) try to reel in his teammate?

"Yes Sir. He said he would like to go with me." (to South Carolina)

Capers plans to attend summer football camps at South Carolina, Clemson, and North Carolina State.
