Former Gamecock Making His Move

The Vikings are looking to advance a former Gamecock on their roster and give him a chance to make a name for himself and our program in the NFL ...

The possibility exists that the Vikings will add one more veteran to the defense during the offseason, but no move will be made until all of the developmental camps are done in mid-June.

They could add a veteran safety like Lee Flowers, but Mike Tice has challenged his staff to develop a young player at the position, with second-year man, and former Gamecock, Willie Offord the most likely candidate.

The University of South Carolina currently has a number of secondary personnel (cornerbacks and safeties) in the NFL including Offord, Ray Green, Sheldon Brown, Terry Cousin, Rashad Faisen, Arturo Freeman, Andre' Goodman and Corey Jenkins.
