Loris (SC) offensive lineman Jeremy Burgess pulled the trigger today after he picked up his second offer.
"Yes sir, I committed to South Carolina today," says the 6-foot-5, 265 pounder. "I have always wanted to go there my whole life."
So what caused to the Gamecock offer in the first place?
"I called the coaches to let them know that Clemson had offered already, and wanted to see what they were going to do. Coach Cosh thought they had already offered, but I told him I didn't get anything in the mail. So he said they would make sure I had an offer in the mail today, and I committed to him on the phone."
With the early commit comes the inevitable question of how solid his commitment is at this point.
"I will still listen to other schools just in case something happens, but it is still a commitment."
Burgess makes the fifth commitment for the Gamecocks this year.
