SC D-Lineman Tight End Speaks - We Listen

Jamon Meredith of Hillcrest (SC) received an offer from the Gamecocks (today Friday). The 6-6, 265-pound athlete had an excellent showing at USC's one-day football camp last Saturday. spoke with Meredith about the camp and the new offer on the table.

"I was pretty good on the pass rushing drill and I caught the ball fairly well. I was just my normal self."

Meredith spoke about South Carolina's offer and a timeframe for a commitment.

"I told him thank you but I did not accept yet. USC has a slight lead. I like their location and town. I plan to make a decision after my official visits. (DeGuglielmo) He's just really cool, he can teach you a lot and also keep a friendly relationship at the same time."

Meredith told that he would "probably" commit to the Gamecocks after his visit to Columbia. Clemson has been Meredith's long time leader, but the Gamecocks have taken the lead over. Thanks to the great football camps they run and the top-notch program they are building.

Meredith plans to major in Civil Engineering at the college of his choice. He carries a 3.8 grade point average and scored an outstanding 1150 on the SAT. Meredith played offensive tackle at Southside in Greenville (SC) he will play both defensive end and tight end for the Rams. He bench presses 355-pounds, squat 460-pounds, and has a 27-inch vertical jump.

Meredith will not attend any other camp this year.
