Justin Sorenson of Ellenas Whalers high school in Parksville, British Columbia is a new prospect to the national scene. The 6-foot-8, 305-pounder had by his own account "100 knockdown blocks" during his junior year. Sorenson has a bench presses 320-pounds and squats 400-pounds. He has been timed in the forty-yard dash in 5.4 seconds. He also plays Lacrosse and basketball for his high school team. Why has this young man stayed a secret?
"People have just heard about me in the summer time practically."
Sorenson has received interest from Boston College, Syracuse, Miami, Michigan, Montana, South Carolina, Toledo, and Cal-Berkeley. He has received official offers from South Carolina and Toledo. Sorenson named his top two teams for TheInsiders.com.
"Michigan and Miami, they are national contenders every year. If they don't offer then I'm going to give a harder look at the other schools. I'm still going to check out the other schools right now."
When will Sorenson make his decision on his college choice public?
"It will probably be by the end of November and maybe sooner."
