David Brown of Bob Jones (AL) is one of the most fierce pass rushers in the southeast. During his junior season Brown earned All-Metro and All-Region honors for the Patriots. The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder racked up 85 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and eight sacks. Brown has been timed in the forty-yard dash at a very consistent 4.8 seconds. He bench presses 330-pounds and squats 550-pounds. Brown has a core grade point average of 3.9 and a score of 23 on the ACT. He projects as a full qualifier.

Brown spoke to TheInsiders.com about what his attributes are on the field.

"I think I can get off the ball pretty quick. I know how to use my strength. It really just comes naturally now."

Brown spoke about a certain NFL player that he really looks up to and why he is his role model.

"I really like Shaun Alexander not only because he's a great football player, but because he's a great Christian. He seems like a person I would like to be."

Brown is the type of player that can make an immediate impact and would be a welcomed addition to any program. His hard work on the field and off the field has earned him a chance at attending some of the top universities in the country.

"Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, LSU, Mississippi State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Tennessee, and I have to call Duke because my coach told me I might have an offer from them."

Brown wants to remain wide open for the time being. He spoke about what will help to make his decision.

"I'll be looking for good academics, athletics, and a place I feel at home. I've been thinking about engineering or something to do with math. Both of my parents graduated from Alabama. My sister just graduated in June from Auburn. My dad really wants me to go to Alabama. My mom likes Notre Dame because of the academic part, because you can't play football forever. They will support me wherever I decide to go."

When will Brown start to narrow down his list and what is his time frame for his decision?

"After I take some more visits to schools I will probably have a top five. I just recently took a trip to Notre Dame and it was a really nice trip. I've been working on getting a visit together to go to South Carolina with my dad to visit Clemson and South Carolina. My mom is really pushing me to make a decision before school so I can concentrate on my academics. I don't want to make a rushed decision, but if a school really stands out and that where I want to go then I'll commit."

Brown was unable to attend any summer football camps because of his sisters wedding.
