South Carolina landed offensive line commitment Alan Knott in the month of June after he chose the Gamecocks over schools like North Carolina, East Carolina, South Florida and Central Florida.
The three-star lineman from Tyrone, Georgia gave his pledge to South Carolina offensive line coach Shawn Elliott at that time and has since been working hard over the summer.
When asked how his summer has been, Knott responded, "Great. I've been lifting a lot and working mainly on pass protection." Knott currently checks in a 6-foot-4.5 and 275 pounds.
Even though Knott committed to the Gamecocks, it hasn't stopped other schools from showing interest. Knott said North Carolina, East Carolina, South Florida, Central Florida and Georgia have all continued to show interest.
Should Gamecock fans be concerned?
"I'm solid as a rock with USC," said Knott.
A big reason South Carolina was able to land Knott's commitment was Gamecocks offensive line coach Shawn Elliott.
Here's the response Knott gave when asked about his relationship with Shawn Elliott:
"Great. Me and coach Elliott understand each other very well. I feel right at home with him because he's a lot like my coach in high school."
As for visits to Williams-Brice this fall, Knott plans to come to as many games as possible with the main ones being Georgia and Clemson.
There is one final thing Knott would like to tell Gamecock Nation:
"Tell the Gamecock Nation that with my class, we're going for a national title."
