Palm Bay Wide Receiver Double Doses

He is one of the fastest, as well as the most physical guys you will see being recruited as a wide receiver this season. As a matter of fact, he is a linebacker on the defensive side of the ball. And he says he is looking for a program that has great football AND track. How big do you think the LSU and Florida games in Columbia might be toward earning a commitment from this Blue Chipper? ...

Xavier Carter of Palm Bay (FL) is one of the most coveted players in nation regardless of position. There has always been a misconception that track stars aren't tough enough to play football, but Carter set that straight.

"Just because I run track, they think I'm just running deep routes, but I run them across the middle too. I play linebacker and special teams too."

Carter currently has over 40 scholarship offers from all around the country. He currently lists Florida, LSU, South Carolina, UCLA, Tennessee, Miami, and Alabama as teams he is taking a look at. spoke with Carter about the factors that will help him to decide.

"I'm looking at programs that let track athletes play football. I want both programs to be good. It doesn't matter (to my parents), it's wherever I want to go."

Carter also mentioned that he is looking into majoring in either Marine Biology or Sports Medicine. He carried a 3.3 grade point average throughout his junior year.

Three teams stand out to the five star prospect and he spoke about what makes them so appealing.

Florida, South Carolina, and LSU, they have good track and football programs."

Carter spoke about his summer football camp schedule.

"I attended the Florida camp last weekend. I liked it, we got to do seven on seven and one on one drills. I'm going to the LSU camp and it's coming up soon."
