A tough loss on the road against LSU has caused the Gamecocks to fall in the rankings in both the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Gamecocks are ranked number nine in the AP Poll and number eight in the USA Today Coaches Poll after losing to LSU 23-21 Saturday night in Baton Rouge.
South Carolina had risen to number three in both polls this week after last week's convincing 35-7 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. The number three ranking was the highest ranking for South Carolina since the 1984 season.
The good news for South Carolina is they still control their own destiny as they have an opportunity to win out and become SEC East division champions. The bad news is the Gamecocks will travel on the road this week for the second straight weekend and face another top 10 in the Florida Gators.
ESPN's College Gameday will be in town and will kickoff at 3:30 on CBS.
