Gibson on the Verge

Nick Gibson had an impressive showing at Mississippi State's one day camp on Friday. Gibson flirted with the idea of committing to the Bulldogs on Friday, but stopped short of making the call. With Gibson's college recruitment possibly coming to a close, Dan Mullen and his staff are in position to secure one of the top running backs in the southeast.

"It was amazing working with Coach (Greg) Knox," said Gibson. "He is a great guy and things went great.

"There were some talented running backs here and I think everybody did great.

"Everybody gave their all and that's all you could ask for.

"I think Coach Knox liked everybody."

While Knox may have had an appreciation for the talent on hand, only a handful of hopefuls held a Bulldog offer.

Gibson is considering taking the Bulldogs up on their offer to join the active roster in 2015.

"I brought my family up here to see how they like it at Mississippi State, said Gibson. "I am weighing my options, but I am looking to commit soon if not today.

"This is my grandma's first time being here, so she's touring the campus and the facilities.

"We're going to talk to Coach Mullen soon."

Gibson reports that the sense of family he gets from the Bulldog coaching staff is genuine.

"You know everybody brings you in and talks to you about being part of a family," explained Gibson. "I feel like I would be part of a family at Mississippi State.

"All of the coaches are just good people. I really like Coach Knox, Coach (Geoff) Collins and Coach Mullen.

"They are great coaches and great people. I just feel at home here with them."
