'Sense of Urgency' Makes a Difference

Charlotte (N.C.)-native CB Jaire Alexander committed to the University of South Carolina on Monday afternoon and good communication played a starring role for this athlete.

On Monday, Cornerback Jaire Alexander announced he's now a Gamecock.

The newest addition to the South Carolina class of 2015 family hails from Charlotte, North Carolina. Alexander committed to UNC-Charlotte in late-February.

Since then, he has had several scholarship offers from other schools. Ball State, Georgia State, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Wake Forest were just a few expressing interest in the 5-foot-11, 170 pound commit.

"Communication was a big factor," noted Alexander. The cornerback also mentioned the "sense of urgency" the Gamecocks had to get everything lined up and the new facilities played a star role in his decision.

Alexander noted all of his time is strictly dedicated to football. The Philadelphia Eagle fan says his ultimate goal is to pursue a career in the NFL.

One step at a time, the all-star is looking forward to playing in the SEC with the Gamecocks.

But first, there is a state championship at stake. Alexander said his goal is to aggressively pursue and win a state championship with his team this upcoming season.

You can be expecting the North Carolina-native to be taking a visit to Columbia very soon with fellow friend and teammate-to-be Mark Fields.
