Octavis Johnson Commits to South Carolina

All-around athlete and 4-star recruit Octavis Johnson has decided to become a Gamecock.

4-star Octavis Johnson committed to the University of South Carolina on Monday. The cornerback is from Homerville, Georgia and is one of three recruits to commit in one day.

Johnson had scholarship offers from Clemson, Florida State, and Kentucky.

Scout's Chad Simmons noted Johnson is physical and can play press coverage. Simmons also said he has good short-space quickness, and he uses his size to help knock receivers off their routes.

The Clinch County High School all-star will join the USC class of 2015 next year. He has been a starter every year since ninth grade and participates in basketball and track.

The 6-foot, 180 pound athlete will be a valuable addition to the roster.
