SC Season Ticket Max Closing in for 2014

As of Tuesday afternoon, the University of South Carolina reported it has sold 51,479 season tickets for the 2014 season. And with a limited max of 55,000, fans may need one to grab a seat at some of the Gamecocks biggest home games this season.

Football season is a little over two-months away, and the University of South Carolina reports it's closing in on its season ticket allotment for the 2014 season.

The Gamecocks are looking forward to a busy season ahead. They have sold 51,479 season tickets, as of Tuesday afternoon. Last season, USC sold 51,967 and the capacity for home games is 55,000.

However, if you want tickets to the season kick-off against Texas A&M, August 28th, or the Georgia game on September 13th, the athletic department urges fans to purchase season tickets in order to be guaranteed a spot.

"We encourage all members to buy season tickets to ensure a ticket to all home games this season,"noted senior associate athletics director Jeff Crane.

"We have seen tremendous interest in 2014 football season tickets from Gamecock Club members."

Over 1,600 Roost members of the Gamecock Club who have waited for seat selection will be able to choose seating starting on Thursday morning. The Gamecocks take home games very seriously in South Carolina. Each of the seven home games were sold out in 2013.

After winning 18-consecutive home games, the garnet and black hold the longest home winning streak in the country.

South Carolina faces Texas A&M, Eastern Carolina, and Georgia all at home, before heading off for the first road game to Vanderbilt in Nashville.

The Gamecocks finished off last season with a bang posing an overall 11-2 record and a Capital One Bowl victory. The 11 wins of 2013 set up USC with its third straight year to post that many wins in a season.

South Carolina has finished in the top-10 three years in a row; the first three in school history. The garnet and black defeated six teams that won its postseason bowl and three teams that finished in AP's Top 10.

2014 will stand as the 121st season for the Gamecocks, and their 23rd year in the Southeastern Conference. For a full look at South Carolina's schedule, visit: www.gamecocksonline.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/scar-m-footbl-sched.html.
