Ranked as the No. 23 prospect in the Class of 2016, Tampa, Fla., Prep power forward Juwan Durham has shown a ton of improvement during this spring.
The 6-foot-9 Durham already has a handful of scholarship offers after starring for his Team Breakdown squad that also includes top '16 stars Eric Hester and Dewan Huell.
Durham said the recruiting process has so far been "a whole lot of fun," but employed his mother to help him on the first day college coaches could call - June 15.
"It was a long day," Durham said. "They contacted my mom and she wrote down all the names that had called. It was somewhat fun."
Durham said the first call he received was from Duke and soon after it was Louisville. He said those two and Florida are showing him the most interest with Wichita State, Tennessee, Kansas and South Florida also showing interest.
Durham said U of L has been on him since before last summer with assistant coach Mike Baldo, who has roots in Florida, showing him "a lot of attention," in the process.
"I really like that program and how they work inside/out," Durham said. "Hopefully, one day I can go visit to see how that campus is and see if I like what they have to offer."
"I feel like I have improved on my shooting and getting stronger," Durham said. "I'm getting there about getting stronger, I feel like I can finish through more contact and that's really helped my game. I had to be able to do that."
Durham said he was at a recent event and someone stopped to tell him "that I looked stronger on the court."
"It made me feel good," Durham said. "I said thanks because I've been working hard to get stronger and it's nice to get it noticed."
Cardinal Authority will keep you posted on the recruitment of Huell.
