Soccer Fever: USC Combines Season Tickets

The University of South Carolina has decided to keep the soccer fever going in America by giving a double dose of the Gamecocks.

If you've become a soccer fan because of the World Cup, then you are in luck.

The University of South Carolina Athletics has announced the men's and women's soccer programs have partnered to join season tickets for the 2014 season.

For the price of $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under), fans can keep up the competitive soccer spirit. Each program will host 11 regular season contests for a total of 22 matches at Stone Stadium.

Plus, anyone who purchases a season soccer ticket will receive a free Gamecock soccer scarf. The first doubleheader is Friday, August 29, with the women taking on Boston University before the men face Belmont in their home regular season opener.

The highlight of the 2014 schedule against rival Clemson falls on Tuesday, September 2, for the men and Friday, September 5, for the women. Later that month, the teams play their first home conference matches on Friday, September 26.

Shelley Smith's team contests their first home SEC match against Missouri before Mark Berson's squad takes to the pitch to open Conference USA play against Marshall.

Smith's team will look to build off a 17-4-2 season and final ranking of No. 15. The Gamecocks did not drop a match at The Graveyard last season and will look to continue on the 11- home game winning streak.

Berson has put together another challenging schedule for his young team. Six teams on the Gamecocks schedule took a trip to the NCAA Tournament last year. In his 37th year at South Carolina, Berson stands as one of the three top winningest coaches in Division I history.

Fans can purchase tickets online at, or by calling the Gamecock Ticket Office at 1-800-4SC-FANS.
