SC to Compete in Charleston Classic

The University of South Carolina is set to play in the Gildan Charleston Classic this upcoming November.

The seventh-annual 2014 Gildan Charleston Classic will be held November 20-23 at TD Arena in Charleston (S.C.).

Akron, Charlotte, Cornell, Drexel, Miami (F.L.), Penn State, Southern California, and South Carolina will make up the eight-team field.

This will be the second time for the Gamecock to compete. In 2009, Miami took an 85-70 win over South Carolina in the Charleston Classic Championship Game.

Last year, Massachusetts took the title with a 62-56 win over Clemson in the final game.

The 2014 Gildan Charleston Classic will feature a bracket format with 12-games over a period of three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated will face off in the championship game on the final day of the competition.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased to all 12 games for $100 each, or two games for $22 each. You may visit or call the College of Charleston box office at (843) 953-2632 for more information.
