The Opening: Elite 11 Hot Board (Day One)

After one day of competition at the Elite 11, national recruiting analysts Brandon Huffman and Chad Simmons name their top five...

The Opening 2014 has officially kicked off in Beaverton, Oregon and the quarterbacks have wrapped up day one at the Elite 11.

19 quarterbacks competed and a handful really stepped up and moved to the top of Scout's list.

Here is the Hot List for day one:

Brandon Huffman: National Recruiting Analyst - West

1- Brandon Wimbush | Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep | Penn State commit
He's got a cannon for an arm, the ball just whistles coming out of his hand, and he was making some nice tough throws in the red zone.

2- Jarrett Stidham | Stephensonville (Texas) | Texas Tech commit
He's got a nice, fluid motion, and doesn't waste much motion and he's very consistent, with incredible accuracy. He's got good spin on the ball and doesn't force things. Looked good in his drops all morning.

3- Sheriron Jones | Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde | Florida commit
Jones was consistent all day and he was throwing with touch and zip when he needed to, not forcing his throws at all and throwing well in the red zone.

4- Josh Rosen | Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco | UCLA commit
Rosen has such a smooth release with no wasted motion. Really showed good spin on his throws today and knew when to take stuff off of his passes, but also when to let it rip.

5- Blake Barnett | Corona (Calif.) Santiago | Alabama commit
The ball was flying out of his hands but he also did a great job using touch on passes, particularly in the red zone/goal line drills.

Chad Simmons: National Recruiting Analyst - South

1- Jarrett Stidham | Stephensonville (Texas) | Texas Tech commit
It is easy to see athleticism in Stidham. He moves very fluid in the pocket and looked comfortable in the chaos drill when he had pressure coming at him. He threw with accuracy and showed zip on the ball.

2- Josh Rosen | Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco | UCLA commit
Effortless it looks at times when Rosen makes a throw. He was good in the morning session, great in the afternoon. He closed hard on being the top guy. Was very accuracy, showed great touch, and the arm is live.

3 - Blake Barnett | Corona (Calif.) Santiago | Alabama commit
Was very steady from start to finish. Really liked his pace as he dropped in the pocket, set his face, and delivered the football. Big in the pocket and threw strikes consistently to the receivers.

4- Deondre Francois | Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
Arm strength is what you see right away. The ball got on the wideouts quickly and at times, caught them off guard. He has a short, quick release and he was sharp on short, intermediate, and deeper balls.

5- Brandon Wimbush | Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep | Penn State commit
Showed great arm strength and made the short to intermediate throws look easy. I liked the way he saw the field and moved his feet in the pocket drills.
