Huggins Takes in Athens

ATHENS – Tracy Rocker had a busy Dawg Night on Friday.

The Bulldogs’ new defensive line coach had a slew of top defensive linemen in town for the annual recruiting event. And one of the top ones there was Orangeburg-Wilkerson DL Albert Huggins, who is considered one of the top players in South Carolina.

“I spent most time why Coach Ekeler and Rocker,” Huggins said. “Coach Rock broke it all down for me, and he said I'll be a three technique. He also said that he would let me determine where I want to play.”

Rocker was critical to Huggins’ visit to Athens, but he also spent time with Georgia’s head coach, too.

“Rock is a great coach and a great person,” Huggins said. “I got some alone time with Coach Richt, and he said he wants me at Georgia, but he also wants me to enjoys the recruiting process.”

Part of that is taking in the sights of the University of Georgia.

“We got to see the whole campus, and we got to meet the whole staff,” Huggins said. “I had a wonderful time at Georgia. The way it felt like family stood it to me the most.”
