Cairo, Ga.- native T.J. Gurley is no. 20 on the Gamecocks line-up. The Junior played in eight games as a freshman, notching 13 tackles on the secondary and on special teams. He was one of the four freshman to play in the season opener against Vandy in 2012.
Mid-way through his freshman season, the safety suffered a knee injury, but came to recover fully and conquer all 13 games in his sophomore season.
In 2013, Gurley notched 30 tackles, including 21 solo stops, and was a member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
This season, the 5-foot-10, 194 pound athlete should be back to full strength and is listed as the second-team free safety.

(1) 17. Chaz Elder: 6’2”, 195 lbs., SO, Union City, Ga.
Elder played in 12 games last season, making six starts, including each of the final five contests. The Peach-Tree State-native notched 29 tackles, including 20 solo stops.
(3) 16. Jasper Sasser: 6’,0”, 203 lbs., RS FR, Jacksonville, Fla.
Redshirting last season, the freshman safety is listed on the third team position in the fall. During his high school career, Sasser was an extremely versatile player playing running back, quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back.
