VIDEO: SEC Network Launch Party

The University of South Carolina kicks-off in less than two weeks against the Aggies on the brand-new SEC Network that officially launched last night. ESPN's Shannon Spake joined South Carolina at Seawell’s on Rosewood Drive in Columbia and featured head coach Steve Spurrier and other Gamecock officials for the launch party.

"The University of South Carolina has made a seven-figure investment to get the SEC Network production unit off the ground on campus," says Charles Bloom, senior associate athletics director of external affairs.

"We're definitely going to be in the top quarter of the SEC in terms of the commitment we make. Coach (Athletics Director Ray) Tanner has made the commitment and wants us to do as many of the events as we can and have them done well."

Including all 21 of the league’s sports, it will be a huge addition to the SEC’s schools, airing over 1,000 live events.

ESPN's Shannon Spake joined the My Carolina Alumni Association for the network launch to chime in from Columbia.
