Ali Groves will be carrying lucky-number 14 on the field this year. The redshirt freshman cornerback will be looking to contribute this fall in place of starters lost for the 2014 season, like Victor Hampton and Jimmy Legree.
Last season, he injured his right shoulder late into the year and underwent surgery. Now back and healthy, the Stone Mountain, Ga.-native is listed with the second-team unit this fall.
Groves was an elite athlete in high school. Playing defensive back and wide receiver for the Stephenson Jaguars in Stone Mountain, the 5-foot-10, 187 pound Georgia-peach graduated in 2013. He was the nation’s 110th-best cornerback and a three-star coming into college by Scout.com. The redshirt had many other scholarship offers from schools like Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.
