USC Commit Jozie Milton on His Senior Season

Three-star defensive tackle Jozie Milton of Silliman Institute in Clinton, La. was named ‘Player of the Week’ in the Bayou State for week 2 of high school football. The South Carolina class of 2015 commit led his team to a 27-0 win over last year’s reigning state champs.

“I guess just playing hard” is what it takes to earn the title ‘Player of the Week’ in the state of Louisiana.

Milton notched 10 total tackles, including four tackles for loss with a sack, against Simpson Academy in Mendenhall, Miss.

However, Centreville Academy is the ultimate rivalry game for Silliman, and the three-star notes on-going banter between the two schools throughout the year. The September 26th game against Centreville can't come soon enough for the senior.

“Pretty much (we) trash-talk all year. Even if we win, we are still going to trash talk them because we can figure out who is actually the better team. It gets intense.”

A little bragging never hurt anyone, and Milton certainly has the stats to back it up.

In the game against Simpson, the versatile athlete had six perfect long snaps and was credited with six pancake blocks on the ‘O’.

The 6’2”, 310 pound Ethel, La.-native notes he’s soaking up every bit of his senior season, but he’s excited about what lies ahead.

“I’m beyond excited,I really am” noted Milton. “I’ve just been taking my high school year and enjoying it while I have it, but I know that my college years are going to be amazing.”
