Last season, the Gamecocks fell to Georgia 30-41 in Athens, and it was one of their only two losses for 2013.
This year the Dawgs will be in Williams-Brice and face new challenges. Georgia has not taken a win in Sandstorm-country since 2008. The team has yet to forget the grueling 35-7 defeat on the Carolina turf back in 2012.
A win for Carolina would…
-put South Carolina 4-1 over the past five meetings against Georgia
-be the third-straight home win over Georgia
-make South Carolina 1-1 in the SEC
Important Factors for Carolina
-It’s going to be the Mike Davis show this Saturday. South Carolina will need to get the ball to Davis every chance they have to get the ball down the field.
-Todd Gurley is a force to be reckoned with. A possible top Heisman candidate, Gurley notched a career high of 198 rushing yards and four touchdowns against Clemson.
Speaking of Gurley, South Carolina’s defense is going to need to slow him down and maintain balance on the field. The defense improved in last weeks game against East Carolina but has given up a total of 832-yards in the air over the past two games.
