NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Shaq Roland's 29-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dylan Thompson put South Carolina on top 24-14 barely 5 minutes into the third quarter versus host Vanderbilt, capping a 24-0 run against its Southeastern Conference Eastern Division foes.

The 14th-ranked Gamecocks (3-1, 2-1 SEC) hushed a Vanderbilt Stadium crowd of 34,441 that had started to give the Commodores (1-3, 0-2) life following a two-touchdown first quarter for Vanderbilt.

Thompson finished with 237 yards on 22-of-34 passing with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Mike Davis' net of 82 rushing yards led a ground attack that totaled 212 (6.2 per carry).
