VIDEO: Top Takeaways Post-Mizzou

South Carolina’s 21-20 loss to Missouri at home on Saturday evening stunned Gamecock fans everywhere. There were many “what if’s” and “should have done’s” during one of the shortest press conferences all season long. Check out some of the top takeaways following the game.

1.Offensively, both teams were slacking on Saturday.

Positive note:
Running back Mike Davis did noted the ninth 100-yard rushing game of his career, tied for sixth in Gamecock history, and his second of the season.

2. Missouri’s defense is pretty good.

Missouri linebacker Michael Scherer noted the defense was focused on the prize even though Mizzou’s offense was struggling.
“We know that our offense can score points and when we see them struggling like that, we know that we just have to keep making stops. It’s going to give your offense a chance to keep scoring and give you a chance to win the game,” said Scherer.

3. Carolina may have been taken a loss, but they will never take a defeat.

A leader of the defense, J.T. Surratt noted it’s back to work on Monday.
“I’ve just got to get them ready and tell them how their mindset needs to be on Monday. The season isn’t over; it’s still a long season. This is a loss, but we have to finish the rest of the season.
