On the Recruiting Trail with '17 Shi Smith

Standing 5-foot-11 at 170 pounds, wide receiver Shi Smith is explosive on the field. In Friday night’s Homecoming game for Union County High School, Smith played safety for the Yellow Jackets.

“He recently started playing safety so I have to kinda pick and choose when to use him,” said wide receivers coach Cameron Willis of Union Co. High School.

Smith said he is up to 225 pounds on bench press in the weight room.

Smith’s athletic ability on the field has caught the attention of other schools like Auburn and Clemson. He received his first scholarship offer from the Gamecocks.
