The world-wide country-pop phenomenon Taylor Swift is not only gracing the hearts of pre-teen girls and 20-something single gals. She has toured around the country, become a Victoria’s Secret Angel for a night, and worked with top labels like Coca-Cola. But T-Swift has now reached the top point in here career, being mentioned by Steve Spurrier.
Swift is always writing memorable songs about breakups and kissing babies. Maybe the idol has brought some inspiration to the HBC himself.
“I was telling our coaching staff, I think Taylor Swift’s got a song called ‘Shake it Off’,” said Spurrier. “That’s what we’re trying to do, shake it off and get ready for the Florida Gators next week. That’s what we’re going to try to do, see if we can regroup and try to win a close game.”- reported Josh Kendall with The State
I think it’s time to replace ‘Sandstorm’ with ‘Shake it Off’. Also, it may be a great idea to have the players dress up in various costumes like the video as well.
Thanks to Taylor Swift shedding some light on the program, the Gamecocks are on the right track to take on the Gators next week in the Swamp.
Florida (4-3, 3-3) will travel to the home of country music to face Vanderbilt (3-6, 0-5) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8. The Gators have chomped their way through the SEC, taking wins from No. 11 Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
The blue and orange will be marching to the beat of their own drum next Saturday with former head coach Steve Spurrier taking the opposite sideline. THE HBC spent quite some time with Florida and Duke before his reign in the Palmetto State.
Hopefully, Taylor Swift can jot down some lyrics for Spurrier & Co. during this bye week. If not, it looks like the Gamecocks new theme song may be somewhere between ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ and ‘Everything has Changed’.
