Gray is Making Visits

Four-star safety Maleik Gray from LaVergne High School in LaVergne, Tenn. has caught the attention of collegiate football programs everywhere. Take a look at my interview with the Volunteer State native and his coach Stanton Stevens.

LaVergne High School all-star Maleik Gray will be making his way down to Baton Rouge for the Alabama vs. LSU game on Saturday. He said it’s his first time being down in Death Valley.

Head coach of LaVergne High School Stanton Stevens says it’s not Gray’s first rodeo. “He’s been to Tennessee and Florida State. He’s been to Ohio State and Kentucky,” said coach Stevens. “He’s been to those schools multiple times, except to Ohio State. He’s only been there once.” Gray holds many offers from schools like Ohio State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt. “I don’t even try and count anymore,” said Stevens.

As for future visits, the athlete said he’s trying to make his way down for the FSU vs. Miami (Fla.) game Saturday, Nov. 15.
“I went there last year, and it was crazy. I plan on going again.”

The four-star also plays at OLB, but doesn’t have a preference between that and safety. “Honestly, wherever I could help the team out,” stated Gray. “That’s where I would rather play.” Take a look at my interview with Gray and coach Stevens at LaVergne High School.

Gray’s motivation and passion for the game is not only evident on the field, but in his preparation.
“My goals in the weight room is just to get better each and every day and just push myself to be the best that I can be.
