WBB: ESPN Talks South Carolina

Friday, November 14 kicks-off the the women’s basketball season, and ESPN will showcase more than 750 exclusive games. ESPN Analyst Kara Lawson and Rebecca Lobo chat about the upcoming season and your South Carolina Gamecocks.

In her 12 year as an ESPN analyst, Kara Lawson is a University of Tennessee alumnus who led her team to three straight Final Fours. She was a two-time All-American and won a gold medal with the 2008 U.S. Women’s Basketball Olympic Team in Beijing. Lawson will be entering her 12th season in the WNBA, taking her team to a league title in 2005 with the Washington Mystics her first year.

Rebecca Lobo has been with ESPN since 2004 as a women’s college basketball and WNBA analyst. She won an NCAA Championship in 1995 with the University of Connecticut where she National Player of the Year and an All-American. Also, Lobo won a gold medal with the 1996 U.S. Women’s Basketball Olympic Team during the Atlanta Olympics and played in the WNBA for seven seasons.

South Carolina sits at the No. 2 spot behind reigning champ UConn in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll and will tip-off its season against the other USC on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Colonial Life Arena.
