Philadelphia Eagles running back Duce Staley and the team have had no contact since the spring and the team is becoming impatient with the holdout.
Staley is expected to compete with Correll Buckhalter for the starting running back spot, a competition that Buckhalter could win by default if Staley's holdout continues much longer.
And it is no big secret the Dolphins want more out of their outside linebackers in 2003, which is one reason they went out and acquired Pro Bowl regular Junior Seau.
But the Dolphins also want to see more from the strongside linebacker spot as well, whether the job belong to Morlon Greenwood or top draft pick Eddie Moore.
In the early days of camp, neither player has stood out that much, but it appears pretty clear that Moore has a legitimate shot at unseating Greenwood if he has a good preseason.
Moore just might be more of a playmaker than Greenwood, who looked really good in camp during his rookie season but has never built on that.
The funny part, actually, is that early in camp the young linebacker who might be the most impressive is rookie Corey Jenkins, the former quarterback and safety for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Jenkins is showing good instincts and he also had a nice hit during the inside drill on Friday.
Now, it would seem a stretch to think Jenkins can steal the starting job from Greenwood and Moore, but it's looking right now like he's got a pretty good shot at making the team, which would be a nice accomplishment considering the position change.
As for the starting job, the hunch in Miami is that Moore is going to wind up taking it from Greenwood, who simply hasn't done enough in his first two years with the Dolphins.
