Bayou Big Man Leaning Out Of State

One of his high school buddies is currently working his way into the regular rotation on the Gamecock defense. It may take a redshirt year, but his former teammate is in Columbia to stay. So what is the latest on this massive Bayou Big Man? Are the Gamecocks still high on his list? ...

Percy Huff has not received as much attention as some of the other better known offensive linemen in Louisiana, but all of that is starting to change.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle from Greensburg-St. Helena Central has three offers from SEC schools including LSU, but he is leaning towards leaving the Bayou State.

"LSU, Mississippi State and South Carolina have offered, but I'm also looking at Miami and the University of Texas," Huff told Tiger Rag. "That would be my top five but Miami is tops."

Why Miami?

"I think it is a good school and a good opportunity," said Huff, who has a 3.4 GPA and scored a 15 on his first attempt at the ACT. "I think it has a great athletic program. They said they were going to wait a while before they offered but they were going to show up at one of my games during the season."

Huff attended one of LSU coach Nick Saban's summer camps and he impressed Saban enough to pick up an offer from the Tigers but the Hurricanes still get his early nod.

"LSU also has a great athletic and academic program," said Huff. "I have been to LSU and talked to most of the coaches and they seem pretty good."
