Gamecocks Pick Up OLine Commitment

Phil Kornblut of the South Carolina News Network is reporting that South Carolina has received a verbal commitment from an offensive lineman ...

Gurminder Thind (6-5 280) of Mississauga, ONT. According to Kornblut Thind was given a verbal scholarship offer over the phone Wednesday night by Gamecock recruiter and offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo, and he accepted that offer.

"I told Coach Guge I'm definitely coming," Thind said.

However, Thind's commitment won't become official until he gets a qualifying test score. Thind has talked with DeGuglielmo about an official visit to USC but no date has been set.

The Gamecocks are looking to sign at least six quality offensive linemen in this upcoming class. Thind would make the first true offensive lineman committed. Three instate trophies are priority for the Gamecocks including Leon Hart of Spring Valley, Corey Lambert of Greenville and James Thompson of Sumter.
