Bayou Big Man Concentrating On Season

Geoff Berniard isn't the only big man in the Bayou State that the Gamecocks are after this recruiting season. As a matter of fact, USC's coaches wouldn't mind making hay in LA on a regular basis when it comes to the big uglies, and this big'un is another reason why ...

Gamecock coaches are hot on the trail of Geoff Berniard as we mentioned to you last week. But Berniard is not the only trenchman that USC coaches are courting. There is another that they really like their chances of signing and that is offensive lineman Percy Huff - a former teammate of current Gamecock defensive lineman Stanley Doughty.

St. Helena Central, Doughty's and Huff's high school, has consistently put out a college prospect each year. This year, Huff is the big man standout for Alden Foster's Hawks in Amite, LA. He was a Class 2A all-state selection last season as a junior when he played with Duckee Doughty ... and according to our sources he remains close friends with Stanley and is eyeing the strong possibility of them playing together on the same team once again in the near future.

Stay tuned, there are other St. Helena teammates thinking that way as well. In the meantime Huff is beginning to consider his visit list.

"I'm hoping to set up official visits to Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tulane and South Carolina," said offensive lineman Percy Huff. "All of them have offered. Right now, I'm focused on the playoffs. I'll take my visits after the season and get more into recruiting at that time."
