Estero High School in Florida has been a main attraction for college coaches in search of quality offensive linemen in recent years. Two years ago, Florida signed Randy Hand while the University of Miami landed Derrick Morse last year. This year, coaches are back recruiting Mike Gilmartin.

At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Gilmartin played left tackle this season. "Now that our season's over, I'm going to concentrate on lifting, getting bigger, and getting all my grades lined up," he said (note: Gilmartin currently has an 1110 SAT score and is fully qualified). I'm also gonna take some recruiting trips."

The talented lineman, who played both ways at times this season, has four scholarship offers right now. "Clemson, South Carolina, Eastern Michigan, and Eastern Kentucky have," he said. "I think some other ones are getting close. I'm still talking to them plus Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, and Florida. I know for sure that I'll be going to South Carolina and Clemson for visits but I'm not sure on the other three yet."

"I'm getting calls from Arkansas, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisiana State and Ole Miss," said defensive end Julian Lowe. "Mississippi State has offered and I've set a visit to South Carolina for January 23rd. I won't make my decision until after the season but I'll be looking at the coaching staff and players when I do."
